"Voodoo for Hire"

Films: Sugar Hill (1974)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Forest/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Evil

Summary: The zombie genre is deeply rooted in the acts of voodoo and the mystic occult. So it only makes sense that someone would make a film starring the grand ruler of it all, Baron Samedi.

History: Sugar Hill was a voluptuous vixen in a bind after her sweetheart got whacked by a mafia gang, led by the greedy Mr. Morgan. Her solution? Contact the supernatural. With the help of a voodoo witch, Sugar summons the god of all voodoo himself, Baron Samedi, so that she now has an army of zombie hitmen.

Notable Kills: See Final Fate.

Final Fate: After killing all of Morgan's men (including feeding one to pigs), Sugar and Samedi confront him, and cause him to fall into quicksand. Samedi offers Sugar his scepter in gratitude as he carries off Morgan's racist girlfriend as payment.

Powers/Abilities: Total omnipotence, but mostly raising the dead.

Weakness: None.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-His zombies have a bizarre uncanny-valley vibe to them, and his power is indescribable. On the other hand, his victims were racist assholes, and he's actually quite friendly and eccentric to his clients. It's clear he's having a blast doing his job.

Trivia: -Baron Samedi, in Haitian mythology, is an Ioa, a spirit of voodoo. This multi-incarnate being is the leader of the Guede, a group of Ioa with similar connections to death and ancestry. And yes, he is often depicted wearing a proper get up, top hat included, as he resembles a corpse properly prepared for burial.

-This film's audio was sampled several times by rapper MF Doom. His alias at the time was King Geedorah. Make of that what you will.

And the Mob will never see anything like them again after they're picked off.

She's also quite skilled with that thing, as it turns out. Color me impressed.

Before the Twilight Scepter, there was this.
Watch out! Her lover has come back in the form of a serpent.

Does the procedure for voodoo zombies involve shoving ping pong balls into them?
As drawn by that crazy grafitti artist down the street.
